Lauren Bunke

Research Specialist

Lauren graduated with a B.S. in Biology with a Molecular Emphasis from Loyola University Chicago in 2019. She has a particular interest in cancer biology and spends her free time getting outside as often as possible to go hike, ski, and just enjoy nature. Her hometown is Grayslake, Illinois.

 

 

 

Rhiannon Abrahams

Graduate Student (Microbiology Doctoral Training Program)

Rhiannon is a current Ph.D. candidate in the Microbiology Program (MDTP) at UW Madison. In 2021 she graduated from La Sierra University with a B.S in Biomedical Sciences. Her undergrad research focused on viral replication and virus-host interactions. In her free time, Rhiannon enjoys reading, crafts, and baking. Her home town is Chandler, Arizona.

 

 

 

 

 

Isabella Jones

Undergraduate researcher

Isabella is a sophomore at UW-Madison pursuing a degree in pharmacology and toxicology and a global health certificate. Her hometown is Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. She enjoys backpacking, swimming and trying new foods.

 

 

Kinjal Majumder, PhD

Principal investigator

Kinjal went to college in Drury University and majored in biology, chemistry and mathematics. He then went to graduate school in immunology at Washington University in St Louis, before completing his post-doctoral training in virology at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Kinjal enjoys cooking, painting and exploring the great outdoors with his dog.

 

MegAnn Haubold

Graduate Student (Cancer Biology Program)

MegAnn is a PhD student in the Cancer Biology program here at UW.  She graduated with her B.S. in Genetics from Clemson University in 2021, where she focused on research surrounding DNA repair mechanisms.  In her free time, MegAnn enjoys trying new restaurants, playing with her dog, reading, and drawing.

 

 

 

 

 

Claire Larsen

Graduate Student (Cell and Molecular Biology Graduate Program)

Claire is a current PhD candidate in the CMB program at UW. She graduated from Denison University in 2021 with a B.S. in Biology. Her research was focused on epigenetics of UV hyper-resistance in Yeast. In her free time Claire enjoys painting, hiking, and eating good food.

Sarah Rubin

Undergraduate researcher

Sarah is a sophomore at UW-Madison studying neurobiology with a certificate in global health and criminal justice. Her hometown is Eden Prairie, Minnesota. She enjoys playing ultimate frisbee, running, and reading.
